The Japanese Maple is an elegant, sour cocktail that is perfect for kicking-off an evening with friends. It uses a double measure of Japanese whisky, that is balanced out by lemon juice, maple syrup and pasteurized egg whites, resulting in a fairly creamy, easy drinking cocktail.
Because this one uses a double measure of whisky, we chose to use Miyagikyo Single Malt, known for its light floral and fruity notes. This allows all of the ingredients to shine together, without one overpowering the rest.
This is probably the trickiest cocktail on our list to master, requiring you to shake it both with and without ice, but the results are well worth it.
