Originally introduced by Thai traders, Awamori is still made using imported Indica long rice from Thailand. However, this does not mean that the drink is similar to something you may find in Thailand, as the Okinawans made a substantial contribution to the distillation process, they incorporated and invented new techniques. It has long had a reputation for being an excellent alcoholic drink. In fact, during the ages where Okinawa was an independent kingdom, it often sent Awamori as tribute to its powerful neighbours of China and Japan. Evidently, this worked quite well, as both the Japanese and the Chinese were content to leave the islands independent, providing they received their share of the local booze.\n\nThis Awamori is one of the better bottlesyou are likely to find anywhere. The company thatmakes it – Zuisen – has won international awards for its excellent brew. Many say it reminds them of whisky. This bottle also looks excellent on the shelf, even if you drink the contents.","brand":"Zuisen","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45699794501868,"sku":"N2491","price":349.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0709\/0906\/7500\/files\/A0009-1-1-510x600.jpg?v=1725747048","url":"https:\/\/dekanta.com\/products\/awamori-in-ryukyu-dynasty-jar-1800ml","provider":"dekantā","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
