It was created using whisky from the Chichibu distillery, blended together with whisky from Scotland, the USA, Canada and Ireland.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe master blenders behind the bottling have clearly taken a great deal of time and care over the expression, managing to carefully balance the whiskies from each region to create a delicate, fruity, complex and infinitely intriguing release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt brings gentle vanilla and coconut on the nose that start off quietly before the whisky opens up with pear, lemon zest and floral honey. The palate follows with creamy toffee, honey, more vanilla and hints of sweet citrus. This is all backed up by subtle peppercorn and cinnamon spice that work in tandem with the fruity notes, resulting in a truly balanced tasting experience. The expression began with a cask of 20 year old blended Scotch whisky, created from spirits distilled at some of Scotland’s most loved distilleries, married at birth and matured for over two decades, before carefully adding single malt from two of Japan’s fastest rising stars – Akashi and Asaka.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"budo-h\" style=\"font-weight: bold; font-size: 250%; color: #000; text-align: left;\"\u003eFlavor Notes Unlike Any Other\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"budo-p\" style=\"font-size: 110%; text-align: justify;\"\u003eThe final result is an incredibly well-balanced, moreish expression that combines rich, fruity and oaky Scotch, with lighter, floral and subtly smoky Japanese whisky. On the nose it brings a burst of citrus fruits and fresh strawberries that mingle with gentle layers of vanilla before gradually becoming richer, with dried red berries, rich oak, freshly buttered toast and light aromas of muscovado sugar. Like the nose, the palate starts fresh, with a mixture of pear drops and light oak, before that richness slowly creeps in once again as the oak builds and is joined by melted dark chocolate, Glacé cherries and cinnamon baked apples, all the while subtle smoke lingers in the background.
